Has any musical talent shown up in any of Mario’s grandchildren/families? Wouldn’t that be wonderful but the answer is probably no or we would have heard of it. Just hoping.

There was, some time ago, a fellow who called himself Victor Lanza and who claimed to be Mario Lanza's illegitimate son. He tried to use this connection to launch his singing career. That didn't seem to work out for him though. He was found out to be a fraud. He continued to sing under the name Lorenzo Lamare, I believe. There was a thread about this fellow - I think back in 2010. I'm sure Derek could add clarity to this and other singers claiming to be Lanza related. There was a tenor not too long ago claiming to be Lanza's grandson. All bogus though as far as I know.

Thanks Tony, I was aware of the phony Victor Lanza ( who actually had a nice "microphone" voice and some nice color in his voice).....but what I had in mind was real, blood-related kin. I know Mario has two grandsons and by now they probably have had children also. One can hope but alas we will never see(or hear) another Mario.

To the best of my knowledge, the only person to inherit even a modicum of Lanza's musical talent---or indeed his passion for music---was his eldest daughter, Colleen. Armando discuses her voice here
