Do you want to learn about AI and games from researchers and
practitioners in industry and academia? Do you want to use what you
learned in an AI game jam, where you jam out new ways of combining AI
and games with other attendees? Can you stand spending five days in
New York City at the end of May? If so, the AI and Games Summer School
might be for you.

The summer school is organized by Georgios Yannakakis and myself, and
we will be giving a series of lectures providing an overview of the
field (following our textbook, Artificial Intelligence and Games). Our
lectures will be complemented by a number of lectures and tutorials by
practitioners and researchers from industry, including Tania X. Short
(Kit Fox Games), Arthur Juliani (Unity), Mitu Khandaker (Remixed
Realities), and Gabriel Synnaeve (Facebook AI Research). More speakers
will be added. We will also have a Game AI Jam, led by Antonios
Liapis.

The first AI and Games Summer School ran last year in Chania, Crete,
and had about 100 participants, including faculty, PhD students,
developers from large and small game companies, and some undergrads.
The feedback was overwhelmingly positive and we also had a lot of fun
ourselves, which is why we decided to organize a second summer school.
The program will be similar to last year, but the location very
different.

Registration for the summer school is now open:

Early registration prices are valid until the end of February; prices
will increase afterward.

We hope you, or your colleagues or students, choose to join us in NYC
in May to learn about AI and Games!
