For one of our clients, we are looking for a Welding Superintendent.

Your responsibilities as a Welding Superintendent will be:

In the workshop are 160 welders, fabricators end 5 foremen working.

The main tasks are: pipe- , fabrication-, cutterheadwelding. Also
repairs to be done on the dredgers and the boats.

General administration and overall supervision of the workshop with
responsibility of all personnel and equipment in the workshop and
personnel seconded to the dredgers and boats.

Coordination of the administration of the workshop, progress reporting
and other relevant important matters.

Responsible for Estimating, costing and fabrication

Ensuring periodical maintenance of barge equipment and co-ordination
for their repairs, spare parts etc.

Suggesting to base and implementation of barge modifications for
better operations of the barge and improved productivity.

Supervision of warehousing of stores on the barge and to ensure
efficient use of available space and proper storage of all barge and
project material.

Resolving personnel problems of the barge personnel if cannot be
resolved by juniors/subordinates.

Scheduling of leave breaks for barge personnel ensuring that all
operations are effectively carried out all the time in the workshop.

Motivation for safety consciousness amongst all personnel in the
workshop and ensures that safety measures of installation procedures
are implemented in the workshop.

Ensuring performance of safety and fire drills periodically for
awareness to personnel regarding safety and survival aspects.

Overall responsible for the operation of the workshop

Coordination with subcontractors' personnel in the workshop for
carrying out their functions effectively and reviews their reports,
performance etc.

Ensuring that all concerned in the workshop are kept well informed
about the progress, problems being faced and other operation related
matters.

Compilation of data for daily report of workshop activities including
details of personnel.

Motivation to the workshop personnel for quality work ensuring the
schedule of completion along with better productivity.

Ensures proper mobilisation and demobilisation of personnel to the
various dredgers and boats for specific project operations.

Requirements

The requirements for the ideal candidate for the position of Welding
Superintendent are:

You have a relevant education;

You have experience in the dredging industry;

You're between 40 and 50 years old;

You speak fluent English.
