Can you tell me how to get my sailboat on marine traffic.com? Have a mmsi number registered through BoatUs but have done searches on this and other Ais sites but my sailboat doesn't exist? Any help is appreciated
Thx John

You need an AIS transmitter not just an MMSI number.  Without an AIS transmitter the shore based AIS receivers cannot locate you.

If you already haave an AIS transmitter, you might be out of range of MarineTraffic receiver stations.  Try entering your details on www.vesselfinder.com and see if you appear on that AIS tracking site?

Just in case anyone else is having problems with this.

After allowing Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) to update to 4.3.215.0 (KB2855265) I found Shipplotter (12.4.7.7.a) to be unresponsive in its reports to the Marine Traffic site – it still worked locally just fine, but on Marine Traffic website it often showed OFFLINE or reported very little of the AIS traffic that it had in fact successfully detected and logged.

Backing off to the previous version of MSE (4.2.223.0) fixed the problem completely.
