Scale Gone

I have noticed in recent weeks that the distance scale is no longer on
the map.

Is this a Marine Traffic thing or has Google done it?

I thought that it was a handy feature and I miss it.

                 Take a look at the bottom right hand side of the map, it's very small but it's there .........
