I see station 59 at Wollongong Australia is showing past 24 hour spots from different parts of the country including New Zealand.
Does anyone know whats going on here? The radio conditons have not been that good.

Yes there is some magical reporting. Check Station 396 shown smack in
the middle of the US on the Mississippi River near Cairo IL. This
station is currently reporting over 1600 miles max distance and 1780
vessels. Appears to be aggregate reporting to MT from many stations
around the US. Suspect that it is take from the Base Stations which
dot both coastlines.

This type of reporting does not help people monitoring/observing
tropospheric radio conditions around the world.
I think that if stations need to report what other people are
reporting as well, that they should be identified as doing such to
avoid confusion.
At this point in time I just take any reports from these stations as
not being correct.

Ref. Station 396: I believe this is on Mt. Diablo on Santa Cruz island off the California Coast. I see it is listed as Cairo, Il, probably in error. I would be interested in any more info on this station. Are there east coast ships seen on 396 too ? Thanks.

as to 396, do not have a clue did you look at the station stats??

as to  Wollongong  there is a aussie group called   Marine Ais DXers,  they spend lots of time and dollars as to receivers, preamps, antennas etc to see how far away they can receive signals. You can go to the stats of the station to see what is up.

Looking at Station 396 tonight, his coverage map includes large a area
in Southern Ca. the entire Gulf coast of Texas, Louisana, and
Alabama, Portions of Florida and Puerto Rico, Chesapeake Bay and
northward and some spots along the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers. This
"station" is obviously reports from many receiver sites. Maybe MT is
allowing a Port on their server to be used by multiple stations.
