Mark,

I noticed your demo of EP3 TP3 probably needed some adjustments.

I manually prevented mine from failure:

This has since been running EUR/CHF exclusively and done ok due to low volatility and only very occasional intervention (two or three times, taking profit or small loss on breakout hedges).

Hi Daniel
Did you see that lovely spike on EurUsd at NFP time today?

Ed

HI Daniel / Ed
Yes as expected these very small EP settings will not work without supervision.

I am still playing with these type of settings, but I think it is difficult with MBC in its current form, without being able to put a stop or TS on a basket as a whole, when the basket is both a mixture of buys and sells (trades and hedges).

The other 20 an 21 level settings been running well on live a/c, with only min intervention (I generally as a rule close BO hedged baskets if they go into profit if over L10) and keep a good eye on any basket over L15

How have things been going for you guys?
Cheers Mark

Yes Ed, I did see the EUR spike yesterday - was busy with eur/chf at the time which actually descended rapidly.

Mark I think with a trail for the whole basket, some incidents would not occur (eg overall basket profitable for 5-10 points only to reverse and hit the breakout SL which is not moving up fast enough).

I also do roughly the same occasional interventions on the 20 level file, but actually I am more drawn to the shorter time frame with less pip span now, because while it's in theory more aggressive, it's easier to turn on...manage....and turn off....all in the space of 3 or 4 hours of trading which is considerably more satisfying. What would make the short span superlative in my view would be adding Ed's idea of making pip span "stretchy" by switching from limit orders to stop orders.

My last 2 weeks have been slightly negative due to one false breakout, finishing at 12% over 2 months. I am thinking of switching to the shorter pip span on Eur/Chf with continuous monitoring at 30% risk for a few hours a day, possibly running one level 20 file also at 30% risk. If Ed's new system works out, I will probably be trading the short span only, especially if it also activates an SL for the whole basket after a breakout (otherwise I would manage this manually).

HI Daniel
I am also drawn to the shorter  more aggressive time frames and have been experimenting, like you, turning on and off for a few hours a day when i have been able to monitor to market. This has been very successful and have made $20 to $30 per day (generally only in the market <5hrs per day) over the last 2 weeks using L1=0.01 on a dollar account.
I have generally been out of the market during the US session and  I recognize it has moved away a bit from the goal of a totally automated system.

I think Chameleon in principle will allow the equivalent to putting a SL on a whole basket whether hedged or not.  I also agree that Ed's stop orders in the direction of a re-trace has a lot of merit, but again I can see this can more easily be integrated into Chameleon than the present version of Margrid - Personally i would fine it too time consuming to try and manually run this type of system.

My experimenting at present is still with Max10 level, x2 multiplyer, low EP sets with short range hedging, that allows full time trading.....still work in progress *;) winking

Cheers Mark

I have all grid trading suspended for a > month now as I haven’t the balls to let it run unless I’m at the screen.

I lost a huge chunk of my capital in FX recently and I’m in a hedge for > 2 months which is proving very difficult to get rid of completely.

i.e. I’m not a happy FXer right now.

MDP did the business on the NPF on Friday and it made a nice profit on that spike retrace. I just like the way that thing trades in and out of the market in a few mins.

Thankfully something went in my favour.

But I am not for quitting however!

We will plough on and sow some more FX seeds.

Keep up the good fight out there everybody.

Hi guys,

I have run the live project for a month now (small $150 cent account) .... without crashing and raising the balance to $302 within the first month .... that's more than a 100% in realized profit ..... THAT'S THE GOOD NEWS FOR ME ..... and it proves that you can run Margrid live with manual intervention and achieve massive short terms or consistent long terms profits ....

NOW, THE WORRYING BIT: I'm running 0.2D and just wondering when it expires and cause problems to the account .... Rick, I know you are busy mate, but if it isn't too much trouble, can you please release a revision of MBC without expiration issue? I am sorry to bother you in the midst of your development work on Chameleon as I understand how difficult it can be at times to switch from passionately programming a new project to sorting out a petty job on an old project ....

Best Regards,
Syed

Syed,

I've been following your account on MyFXBook and it's been impressive to say the least! I'll unlock the expiration date and get it out... by this weekend.

Hi Esteban,

Sorry, been busy with weekend chores so couldn't reply ...

I am not using Mark's set on the demo.... this is an experiment specially built for EJ with tiny pip span and max level hedging ..... the hedging gives me the time for manual intervention and based on how the market develops (trend and support/resistance, I decide on how to go about the open basket ..... it has been going good till now .... lets see what happens in the next few days ....

Regards,

Syed
