One of the key features of Anstoss 3 was the ability to actually play the games after Anstoss Action was released. Although it could be played as a stand-alone game, it only reached the full potential when used with the manager game. This feature, only present on other games with limited geographical distribution, the Spanish PC Fútbol, was included for buyers of both TCM 2004 and FIFA 2004, which could use the Football Fusion function. Some fans managed to control games in TCM 2003 by hacking the configuration files, but data loss and corruption was frequent. Celtic manager Martin O'Neill appeared on the cover of TCM 2004. Criticized by a confusing interface, EA reworked it for TCM 2005, with a more sleek design. European Champion with former FC Porto and Chelsea manager José Mourinho was selected for the main cover.

FIFA Manager 09 received mixed reviews from Metacritic, with an average of 69%. Scores ranged from a dire 30% (Total PC Gaming) up to a more than respectable 85% (GameStar). Most reviews commented on the level of depth and realism involved in the game, while noting that it might well be too much for some. Play.tm called it "more a lifestyle than a game", observing that "a season, if played thoroughly, will take as long as most full games these days".[2] IT Reviews commented that, "it may still feel like you're awash with a tsunami of statistics but FIFA manager 09 has injected a number of new features to appeal to micromanagement fans".[3]

FIFA Manager 10 is the 2010 successor to the FIFA Manager series from EA's sports brand, EA Sports, following up FIFA Manager 09. FIFA Manager 10 was developed by Bright Future and published by EA Spore. When installed there will be two executable files: Single-player mode and the Multiplayer mode that can be played online.[4] The game gives you the chance to control a wide range of features from discussing tactics with individual players to creating monster stadiums to house your fans. For the first time ever on the series, there is an online mode, as well as a superior 3D animation and a customizable manager desktop.[5]

FIFA Manager 12 is a football manager simulation video game developed by Bright Future GmbH and published by Electronic Arts worldwide under the EA Sports label. It was released for Microsoft Windows. It is the eleventh game in FIFA Manager series of video games.

FIFA Manager 13 is developed for EA SPORTS by the development studio Bright Future in Cologne. The game is rated USK 0+ in Germany and PEGI 3 in the rest of Europe, for more information see www.usk.de (Germany) or www.pegi.info (rest of Europe).

Additional information can be obtained at www.FM12.de. Five press conferences with lead designer Gerald Köhler and Designer Bruno Hertlein and the FIFA Manager 13 spot are available at -manager/fussball-manager-13/videos.html. A FIFA Manager 13 trailer is available at www.FM12.de.

"The football manager genre at this level of sophistication is highly specialised and primarily played in two countries (England and Germany), in which - on top of everything - one game has practically dominated the market in recent years," explained Gerald Köhler.

New fans will get the ultimate football management/strategy/sim, but might find all the bells and whistles quite intimidating. Seasoned Football Manager managers will not feel the revolution of the game they played last year, but they'll play it anyway. See also: all sports games on an annual release.

In the UK, no football fan is alone in thinking they would make the perfect manager, and now The Everyday Tactician campaign is giving the Xbox and Football Manager community a chance to make these dreams a reality.

In these times of pandemic and remote working, a large part of the conversations concerned what we had experienced, how we had dealt with it and, finally, the inevitable discussion on what a manager is or should be today and tomorrow.

In theory we all agreed on what the role of a manager should be and had done for years. In practice, in the office, things were different. There were those who were comfortable with a certain amount of letting go, and those whose physical proximity helped them stay in their comfort zone by keeping a discreet but real control over what their teams did and doing things instead of taking the time to teach them how.

FIFA Manager 08 makes an excellent first impression. British gamers, in particular, will feel a warm glow when the theme song from the Grandstand TV show kicks off the welcome screen, and high production values are evident throughout the game. As with any management title, you start by choosing the domestic or international club for which you want to work. If you choose to raise a team from the ranks of the lower divisions, you'll have fewer resources and lower expectations, but if you pick a world-class club, you'll have some very serious board expectations. However, FIFA Manager 08 helps you juggle the demands of whatever club you choose by allowing you to palm off certain aspects of the running to your assistants. If your interest is in finding and cultivating talent rather than wading through spreadsheets of numbers, then your finance team is there to take care of it. Alongside this, FIFA Manager 08 places an emphasis on creating your manager rather than being the manager. You're asked how you want to look, how big you want your family to be, and what sort of hobbies you want to pursue. Learning a foreign language will help you secure a job in another country, while playing golf may enamour you to the board members of another team.

In FIFA Ultimate Team, chemistry is vital to guarantee the best play from a certain player. If you pack a 90+ rated player from your FUT Champs pack or Squad Battles rewards and want to fit them in your team, you'll want to make sure your manager is of the same nationality.

This probably goes some way to explaining why it's not easy to find Brazilian managers in FIFA Ultimate Team, especially when there's an SBC going on and everybody suddenly wants one. These manager cards, despite their rarity, will often instantly sell at their max prices as soon as they enter the market.

So, if you really want a Brazilian manager to supe up your chemistry with those superstar players from Brazil (Ronaldinho is a beast in this year's game, of course), you might find that patience is the path to success. You might need to keep a keen eye on the markets, then, and snipe one when you can!

Football Manager 2023 will hit video game stores later this year and it is sure to deliver plenty of fun, excitement and virtual managerial experience for gamers. The 2022 edition of the game released in November last year and managed to sell more than a million copies in PC/Mac platforms alone in less than a year.

As well as small improvements in the gameplay experience, such as more dynamism from the individual players on the pitch, manager AI has been sharpened, meaning that your opponents' in-game decisions will be more varied and realistic.

The Dynamic Manager Timeline aims to enhance a manager's biography by noting the key moments of a manager's career. More than 50 'event' types exist, so your biography will reflect your relationships with players and staff as well as your title wins and achievements.

Although the game will become second-nature soon enough, it's easy to forget about certain assignments. One person who will benefit from said assignments will be the in-game scouts, who can end up searching for wonderkids in Greece for 20 years if managers aren't careful.

As mentioned before, Football Manager can be overbearing at times. Thankfully, Sports Interactive lets players utilize their staff to great effect, with the assistant manager being able to do almost everything in the game if players decide they want to take it easy for a while.

Team selection, transfers, training sessions, and press conferences can all be handled by the almost certainly underpaid assistant manager, but sadly they can't help out when real-life complications show up.

In almost every team sport, a legendary aging player is treated with love and care from the fans, their teammates, and more importantly their manager. The complete opposite seems to be the case in Football Manager, however.

One of the most exciting parts of Football Manager is discovering and nurturing young talent, which can often lead to managers forcing their club legends out of the club in hopes that their 16-year-old signing is going to become the next Messi.

Following on from the previous point, forcing a player out of the club in Football Manager isn't as simple as just transfer listing them like in FIFA. Offering a legendary player to other teams out can have huge ramifications on the club, as the squad, the fans, and even the board may turn against the manager.

This can create an ugly break-up between the two parties, with both the manager and the player being happy to see the back of one another at the end of it. Despite this, the game almost always offers the "you're welcome back any time" dialog option, which usually results in the war of words kicking off once more.

Although picking the top teams can be great fun, the lower-leagues are where the true challenge is, particularly when half the team gets injured following the manager's demands to make a group of non-league part-time players attempt a high-intensity Gegenpress.

Football Manager 21 has again increased the incredible amount of tactical customization in the game, allowing managers to create almost any style that they have in mind. Despite this, the simplistic Mentality mechanic still reigns supreme as the most important selection that needs to be made.

When playing Football Manager 21 for multiple in-game years, players will often see a team talk selection pop up that attempts to encourage the team to get revenge on a side that once beat them. This selection often goes down so well with the team, that most managers will select it anytime it pops up.
