This page provides a free open proxy list with public proxies scraped from many different sources. We scrape thousands of free open proxies from all over the internet and check them 24/7 to make sure you only get the freshest proxies possible.

Every proxy gets checked multiple times every minute and gets removed if it doesn't work anymore. Our proxy backend with over nine proxy checkers and three proxy scrapes updates the proxies every second to make sure you get the best free proxy list.

This free proxy list provides free socks4, socks5 and HTTP proxies and can be downloaded in a text file format (.txt) or can be directly accessed via our proxy API.

Blocking ultrasurf is a real problem. The only way to do this effectively is with a UTM device like sonicwall , watchguard , or untangle. Ultrasurf is a problem to block because they use many proxy relay servers on the internet that hide behind http and https. A simple firewall will not block this type of activity. You need a device that will inspect the communications for a specific signature which identifies the Ultrasurf traffic.

Even if you have a proxy server in place, Ultrasurf will tunnel right through it. It IS a real annoying since it rides on top of http/https even through a proxy servers because it looks like normal web traffic. The only effective way around it is to use either a UTM to inspect the http request or use an outside filtering service (like WebSense, OpenDNS, WebRoot, etc.) that can keep up with this numerous and shifting ultrasurf proxies.

Ultrasurf is a constant hassle here (high school) & walks straight through anything we throw at it. The powers-that-be have decreed domainless laptops for students, with users having local admin rights, & transparent proxy at school. (Students take the laptops home.)

From a technical standpoint, I would also make sure that I had a content filter in place to keep it from becoming a problem. Remember, they could be bringing in viruses and making more than just their one machine available on the 'net.

Proxy Server List - this page provides and maintains the largest and the most up-to-date list of working proxy servers that are available for public use. Our powerful software checks over a million proxy servers daily, with most proxies tested at least once every 15 minutes, thus creating one of the most reliable proxy lists on the Internet - all for free.

Any proxy server listed on this page can be used with a software application that supports the use of proxies such as your web browser. The most popular uses of proxies include hiding your real IP address, disguising your geographic location, and accessing blocked websites.

This proxy list is updated once every 60 seconds from the data stored in our gigabyte-sized proxy database. The list can be filtered down by a number of attributes such as the port number of a proxy, country of origin of a proxy, and the level of anonymity of a proxy. You can also view this list on a map.

Almost any application, such as your own web-browser, can be configured to route your connections through a proxy server for reasons of anonimity or performance. Configuring your browser to use a proxy server is quick and easy, and the instructions for doing that are described in our articles section.

However, the recommended alternative to doing all those steps anytime you wish to use a different proxy, is to use our homemade proxy switcher that can simplify the whole process to just a few mouse clicks. Our Nova Proxy Switcher can be downloaded from our proxy software page.

I'm currently evaluating firewalls. My goal is to block all traffics from VPN providers. We have the VPN IP address list from the IP2Proxy in the following format with IP address ranges in decimal format.

One can import IP addr lists into the Blocked Sites area, but not using this exact format, and certainly not many millions of entries.
However, Application Control has a category of "Tunneling and Proxy Services" which should block the use of the application, instead of blocking access to a server IP addr.

Application control is fairly accurate at detecting common VPN types (Like OpenVPN, etc.) For applications that try to obfuscate themselves via encryption, having content inspection on for your https policy and using a TCP/UDP proxy instead of the outgoing policy will generally allow it to catch the rest.

Evasive applications use dynamic ports and protocols, encryption and other techniques to make the application traffic difficult to detect and manage. The objective of this configuration example is to show how you can block Ultrasurf with WatchGuard Firebox policies and subscription services. You can use a similar strategy to block other types of evasive applications on your network.

To completely block Ultrasurf traffic, you must create a layered defense strategy of Firebox services. The first step is to deny Ultrasurf web pages (*ultrasurf*/*) so that users cannot download the application. This is done via an HTTPS proxy with content inspection and WebBlocker.

Ultrasurf is a proxy-based application that allows Internet users to bypass firewalls and to surf the web anonymously. With Ultrasurf, users can avoid filtering rules that you create and enforce with WatchGuard WebBlocker. Ultrasurf hides your IP address and clears browsing history and cookies. It attempts to use alternate pathways if a connection is blocked.

Many proxy avoidance applications use a similar set of strategies to try to connect to their servers. Typically, the application first sends DNS queries to find a server. Then it tries to connect to the server on HTTP port 80 and then on HTTPS port 443. Some applications try to build an SSL tunnel on either the standard port 443, or another port, such as TCP 53 or another dynamically selected port. If all of this fails, the application could try to connect to backup servers located on popular and often allowed data centers such as Microsoft or Amazon Web Services. Another strategy includes attempts to download another executable while the application continues to repeatedly try to connect to a server.

To detect these types of applications, you must configure proxies and services with appropriate settings, and enable logging for reports. It is also important to regularly monitor log files and reports to keep up with the new trends in network activity as updates of those applications become available.

You can apply the same type of configuration strategies to protect against advanced malware and other evasive applications. To do this, you would configure other security services such as Gateway AntiVirus, Botnet Detection, APT Blocker, Reputation Enabled Defense, and Intrusion Prevention Services. We recommend that you monitor log messages and reports regularly to help identify new threats, so you can update the configuration as threats and application behaviors evolve.

To prevent users from downloading UltraSurf:

I want to use a proxy for web browsing similar to Ultrasurf for Windows. I've tried to use TOR, but it isn't working! The problem is whenever I search something along the lines of "ubuntu + linux proxy", sites assume that I want to set up a proxy server rather than use one.

UltraSurf is a free software which enables users inside countries with heavy Internet censorship to visit any public web sites in the world safely and freely. Users in countries without internet censorship also use it to protect their internet privacy and security.

Before I give my main answer, as discussed in the comments, it may be worth noting another approach that can sometimes work for unblocking some sites, and that is using Google translate as a proxy. In combination with changing your DNS settings, sometimes this can be successful in unblocking some sites.

You can browse whole sites via Google translate, using an url such as this and you can select a translation setting so that the actual 'translation' will still be in English. Just change the u= in the above url to switch sites when you want to.

You can also change your DNS settings from your ISP to Google DNS, which may help if there is some DNS filtering done by your ISP, though it might not help if your ISP is using a transparent proxy to filter material. See my answer for this question for how to change your DNS in network-manager without needing to touch your router.
