Lock is a versatile agent. He does well in all, but excels in none. He has moderate health, damage and mobility. Lock could potentially be both a team player and lone wolf. He does best at mid-range, where he shreds most of his opponents. He's not exactly the agent to lead the charge so get behind a Defender. Aim down sights as much as possible in all engagements other than close quarters combat. In close combat, aim for the opponent's head as much as possible, as it makes a huge difference when trading shot-for-shot, something easily done with Lock's high accuracy.

Lock On: Modern Air Combat or LOMAC, known in Russia as LockOn, is a modern combat flight simulator developed by Eagle Dynamics and published by Ubi Soft in Europe and 1C Company in Russia. It is a continuation of the Flanker series.[3]

The game features both air-to-air and air-to-ground combat including combat air patrol, dogfighting, airstrikes, close air support, SEAD and anti-surface warfare. It simulates takeoff and landing including carrier operations with the Su-33 and Kuznetsov-class carrier. Over 40 non-playable AI airplanes are present including support from AWACS aircraft and refueling tankers.

hello, i have bought the lock on modern combat some time ago, but i dont know how to use my joystick with it, and without it, i cant play the game rite. can anyone tell me how to use the joystick with this game?:helpsmilie:

I am looking for a good modern combat flight simulator. I have tried many places to find reviews on them, but all I get is "Lock On". It doesn't look very appealing to me, I want a sim like good ol' Jane's USAF and USNF. I would still play them had it not...

Are there any modern jet downloads that will work with cfs3.It would be nice if the air to air missiles would work too.Or is there any other combat simulator you would recommend for modern aircraft. ?...

I have been thinking of buying a modern combat simulation program. I would like to read any thoughts or experiences anyone has had with Lock On Gold and/or Falcon 4.0: Allied Force. Which is better? ?...

DUXFORD, UK, March 26, 2009 - The Fighter Collection and Eagle Dynamics have released Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2. This is an upgrade to the unofficial Lock On: Flaming Cliffs add-on. Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2 features all the flyable aircraft of Lock On: Flaming Cliffs and includes several fan-requested updates to aircraft, sensor, and weapon systems. Lock On: Flaming Cliffs combines a large stable of modern U.S. and Russian aircraft to fly over Russia and Georgia with game play for both casual and hardcore flight simulation enthusiasts.

Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2 features the same world environment and game functionality as the Digital Combat Simulation (DCS) series and is online compatible an updated copy of the Ka-50 attack helicopter simulation DCS: Black Shark www.digitalcombatsimulator.com. Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 2 allows Lock On pilots and Black Shark pilots to now fly online together in both cooperative and head-to-head online play.

I can't assign anything to the A-10's pylon 6 (center-pylon). It is missing a definition earlier in the file and I don't know how to define it. So don't try to add anything to it or Lock On will crash/lock up when you click mission editor, options etc.

Remember the Strike Fighters series, you know the good old days, when most people were using Windows XP and Thirdwire had the Cold War era combat sim market to themselves. The days when free updates would fall from the cloud(s) giving us new game features for no extra cost.

Then just as all hope was lost, out of nowhere, lady luck smiled on the starving company and smart phones and tablets rained down from the heavens. Not only were these mini PCs locked down for any old idiot to use, they came with interesting new opportunities to make money.

Because of the large variety of weapons there is a handy mode select (MSL SEL) button to switch ordnance, you always have guns available though(if you have any). Once a weapon is selected it will auto lock onto a relevant target, for example a Radar if you have selected an Anti- Radiation missile, or an aircraft if you have selected an ASRAAM.

An auto lock on a ground target brings up a nifty Infra Red (IR) view as you might see from a targeting pod, and you can press Mode to get the 360 degree radar view back at any time. (Not that I can make anything out on a tiny iPhone screen anyway!)

You can now select weapons (again a paid unlock), and just like in life the more money you have the more you make (perhaps). For example with the F-16 I can remove the tanks and add 4 x GBU-12s to go with 8 x SDBs and 4 x AIMs which is a potential 1600 points yippee!

Strike Fighters: Modern Combat brings together good features from the earlier mobile games and adds to them. If you want to pay to unlock the features you will likely get more from it, however it seems to be a fairly fun arcade game, especially when you need to baby sit your daughter or are at lunchtime at work, or instead of work maybe.

On my Samsung S8+, I tried really hard to just play free. But since, unlike the PC version, we have to unlock planes with both credits and player level, I had to buy the weapons and no level restrictions (if there was a way to eliminate the timer and reload missiles....oh, man). But with just weapons, reinforcement pack 2, and the level unlock, I can now score up to 30 kills in a mission (F-15E with SDBs!). :)

Lock On: Modern Air Combat is a combat flight simulator developed by Eagle Dynamics and published by UbiSoft. The game provides realistic take-offs and landings, and more. Lock On: Modern Air Combat was released on November 20, 2003.

I know that modern radars like the AN/APG-79 in modern combat aircraft like the F/A-18F filter out false alarms with Doppler processing and use what could be called "filters". Could an F/A-18F pilot "lock-on" a single bird using STT (Single-Target Tracking) mode or by using any other radar modes?

Lock On: Modern Air Combat is the first true modern hardcore flight simulator since the days of Falcon 4.0 and a direct continuation of the Flanker (1.0/2.0) games. Players get to fly six different aircraft: Mig-29, SU-25, SU-27, SU-33, F-15 and A-10. Comprehensive training missions and wide range of single missions help to prepare to the campaign where the player either helps to stop the Russian invasion of Ukraine or advances it. Multiplayer offers head-to-head or a co-op mode through TCP/IP or locally on LAN.

Lock On Gold is the only modern day flight simulation game to combine high fidelity with a broad choice of aircraft. The game is filled with action-packed missions, realistic flight modelling and flexible game options that provide unlimited game play action to both beginner and veteran flight simulation fans. The game's blend of high-powered aircraft and various fighting styles combine for the most realistic flight sim featuring today's most advanced military aircraft

Lock On: Modern Air Combat or LOMAC, known in Russia as Lock On, is a modern combat flight simulation developed by Eagle Dynamics and published by Ubisoft in Europe and 1C Company in Russia; widely regarded as one of the most realistic simulators in its class[citation needed], it is considered as a survey simulator by its creators.[3] It contains 8 flyable aircraft and over 40 non-playable/AI-controlled planes. The game mainly revolves around air-to-air combat and air-to-ground combat with some optional, unique roles such as pinpoint/anti-radiation strikes, anti-ship strikes or aerobatics. The game realistically models all aspects of take-off and landing, AWACS (also known as AEW&C), carrier-based landings (for the Su-33), and Aerial refueling.

For your library you may commit the composer.lock file if you want to. This can help your team to always test against the same dependency versions. However, this lock file will not have any effect on other projects that depend on it. It only has an effect on the main project.

composer.lock is build metadata which is not part of the project. The state of dependencies should be controlled through how you're versioning them (either manually or as part of your automated build process) and not arbitrarily by the last developer to update them and commit the lock file.

2. You should version control your composer.lock file, because this stores information about your dependencies and about the dependencies of your dependencies that will allow you to replicate the current state of the code. This is important, because, all your testing and development has been done against specific code. Not caring about the actual version of the code that you have is similar to uploading code changes to your application and not testing them. If you are upgrading your dependencies versions, this should be a willingly act, and you should take the necessary care to make sure everything still works. Losing one or two hours of up time reverting to a previous release version might cost you a lot of money.

One of the arguments that you will see about not needing the composer.lock is that you can set the exact version that you need in your composer.json file, and that in this way, every time someone runs composer install, it will install them the same code. This is not true, because, your dependencies have their own dependencies, and their configuration might be specified in a format that it allows updates to subversions, or maybe even entire versions.

So, having your composer.lock file in the version system will store the exact version of this sub-dependencies, so, when you and your teammate does a composer install (this is the way that you will install your dependencies based on a composer.lock) you both will get the same versions.

What if you wanna update? Then in your dev environment run: composer update, this will generate a new composer.lock file (if there is something new) and after you test it, and QA test and regression test it and stuff. You can push it for everyone else to download the new composer.lock, since its safe to upgrade.
