Using Activesync With Vista

If you have problems syncing music, pictures, or other large files in which the connection suddenly closes, there may be an issue with a serial driver that is installed on the device. Unless you are using a VPN server or a firewall that is blocking your large files from synchronization, you may try switching your device into RNDIS mode to fix your large file sync problem. If your device has a USB to PC option, you might use this workaround:
Other features included an enhanced battery-saving capability called persistent storage capability. Software could be developed by third parties for the Windows Mobile operating system. Developers had several options for deploying mobile applications. These included writing native code with Visual C++, managed code that worked with the .NET Compact Framework, writing code in Tcl-Tk with eTcl,[94] GCC using CeGCC,[95] Python using PythonCE or server-side code that could be deployed using Internet Explorer Mobile or a mobile client on a user's device. The .NET Compact Framework was a subset of the .NET Framework and hence shared many components with software development on desktop clients, application servers, and web servers which had the .NET Framework installed, thus integrating networked computing space.[96]
How does the trial version differ from the regular version?
The trial version and regular version are identical. The software will run for 30-days in trial mode without requiring a registration code. Once the 30-day trial expires, you must purchase a registration code to continue using the product. Once you purchase a registration code, you do not need to re-install the software. Simply enter the registration code to continue using the software and all of your data will remain intact.
SplashID won't accept my registration code. Why not?
Make sure you are entering the correct registration code, and not your order number. The registration code should begin with the letters SDXU (version 3.x) or SDWM (version 4.x). You may want to try entering the code without the dashes. Also, make sure there are no spaces before, after, or within the code. Also, make sure you are not confusing your registration code with your password. The registration code only needs to be entered once. The password is a word you define and must be entered each time you launch SplashID.
SplashID Desktop crashes as soon as I try to launch it.

The button Publish Movie starts Windows DVD Maker, to burn the movie on a DVD. Both programs require a graphical card with support for DirectX 9.
Mapping a network drive has one big disadvantage: if the network location is unavailable, browsing through the files using a program (like Word) is annoyingly slow. Visit the page aboutsharing files with a mapped network drive for a batch file to create the mapped network drive if needed. Because the mapped network drive is not created by default, it can't cause a delay either.

Since we use an activation system to validate license usage, each phone will use up one license count so you MUST purchase enough quantity to cover all phones. How would I get charged for using PdaNet?
PdaNet provides your PC with full Internet access, however your email account is provided by youremail service. Some ISP such as EarthLink will only allow you to access the SMTP server (for outgoing mail)if you dial up using their service. Try to contact your ISP to see if there is an alternative SMTP server you can use which is not private, or you can access web mailthrough the browser if they provide one. If they don't, maybe it is time to consider a free email servicesuch as Yahoo mail or Hotmail.I got a message on my PC prompting me to pick up the handset and dial #777 and then press ok. I got audio message "feature code you entered is not valid".
This is usually because the previous connection was not terminated cleanly for some reason (data connection stability issue etc.). When you get this problem, you can do a soft reset on your device (unplug, take out the battery and put it back) to clear it. I ActiveSync with my Desktop PC only but I want to use PdaNet on my laptop, what should I do?Since PdaNet relies on ActiveSync to provide device connection. You do haveto put ActiveSync on whichever PC you will be using PdaNet. The "Dial-Up Connection" box pops us when I try to use broadband on my PC.This is due to the default Internet Options on your computer, which can be customizedeasily. Simply launch Control Panel and go to Internet Options->Connections tab, fromthere you can change the setting to "Never dial a connection" and the problem will go away. How do I connect PdaNet to my phone through Wifi?To connect PdaNet through a Wifi-capable phone, follow the instructions below:
- Make sure your phone is not attached to the computer.
- Setup Wifi connection between your computer and your phone. This caneither be a peer-to-peer (ad-hoc) connection without a router or an access point connectionthrough a router.
- From your computer try to ping the IP address of your phone to make sure the Wifi connection is working.
- On the phone end, tap the PdaNet icon to bring up settings. At the bottom of the settings windowthere is drop down list with "No connection over Wifi" and also the name of your computer. Select it to allow this computer to connect to your phone. If you do not see your computer name in thelist, there might be problem with your Wifi connection.
- If the computer can see the phone, the PdaNet tray icon should change to an"attached" state after a few seconds. Now you can connect PdaNet from the computer side.
If you cannot get connected, make sure that no other program is using the COM port. Programs to check for include any Fax/Modem software and other data transfer software. If you see anything you think may be using the COM port, shut it down and retry the connection with ActiveSync. You can also contact Carlson Technical Support for additional assistance.
Make sure that Allow USB connections is selected. If you want to be able to sync wireless using Bluetooth, make sure that the Allow connections to one of the following option is selected with Bluetooth in the dropdown menu.
