Here you will get all the official firmware region/country codes used on Samsung devices. It is a long list of country codes. So we recommend scrolling down to your country name and check by the code.
are you kidding me? this is not a complete list of csc codes, hell it's not even a correct list of codes. 3 csc codes for canada? jesus wept! we may not have the biggest population here but we have more than 3 carriers here. and only 4 for the u.s. but morocco has 6...you must be joking, right?
You can think of a CSC as a kind of fingerprint for a particular market or region. It is a set of 3 characters. When you buy a Samsung device from another country, the CSC will differ from the one on your home market device. This is because Samsung has made specific changes to the software for that market. The acronym CSC stands for Country Specific Code but you might find various explanations.
CSC is used to identify the regional variants of certain Samsung devices. These codes determine which firmware version and carrier-specific features are available on a particular device. To ensure compliance with the laws and regulations of a country, Samsung assigns a different CSC code to each region. Samsung firmware has 4 binaries: BL, AP, CP, and CSC. There are 2 CSC files and you need to flash either the CSC or Home CSC in Samsung Odin.
CSC is an essential component of the Samsung firmware. Since CSC codes are country-specific, they are responsible for the availability of certain apps and features such as language packs, native call recording, APN settings, network modes, calendar settings, clock formats, etc. Besides, it also helps Samsung FUS (firmware update server) to recognize your device and send OTA updates.
In the above screenshot, OXM is the primary CSC while INS is the secondary CSC, indicating that the device is meant for India. If your device has a multi-CSC, there are 4 ways to change the CSC of your Samsung phone by following our tutorial.
If you want to enable native call recording, caller ID, and Samsung Pay on your Samsung Galaxy phone, you can switch to one of the following CSC codes: BKD, EGY, ILO, INS, LYS, NPL, SEK, SLK, THL, and TUN. Below is a complete list of 68 CSCs that come under OXM with the country name, and region they belong to.
Our list of over 500 CSC codes for Samsung devices includes almost all existing ones. Discontinued CSCs have been omitted from the list deliberately. The Samsung CSC codes have been arranged alphabetically so that you can find them easily.
This document will show you three ways to find a Samsung phone model or CSC region code. What does CSC mean? CSC means Country Specific Code that is an essential component of Samsung firmware binaries and it contains customized settings, system configurations, localizations, and geo-specific things such as the system language, APN settings, and carrier-branding. That is say, Samsung may release the same model of a phone with different CSCs.
If there is something wrong in your Samsung phone, you can repair the system issues with the Samsung phone model information. Cocosenor Android Repair Tuner can help to repair the system issues and get your Samsung phone back to normal.

For some Weird reason, i'm getting different Region info from different sources. I live in The Netherlands and i checked My IMEI with the guru and it says ABC as the region. Now the box from my LG g6 says DEC. Is that by chance the Manufacturing month? Or do they sell the danish version in holland?
Thanks in advance :)
The higher the number, the newer the version. So for example A08 is newer than A07. Similarly, AC02 would be newer than AC01. Assuming one is made available, you could use AC02 to upgrade your firmware from AC01. Although, I suspect that the "AC02" firmware was only released as stock firmware on "TS-L633C" models that rolled out of the factory, not as a binary download you could get over the Internet. I have come to this conclusion after some extensive google-fu and viewing some dodgy websites that claim otherwise.
If the letters don't carry any particular meaning, then you may just sort the versions in alphabetical order to discern which one is the latest. If we do that we get the following list, from oldest to newest.
I don't know if this is correct. I have not found any documentation or even mentions online that would indicate what these letters mean, everyone seems to just assume that these letters stand for region in which the drives were sold.
I am speculating when I say this, but as long as the model is the same, I think the only adverse effect of using the firmware from the "wrong region" would be that you can't play for example a Region 1 DVD video disc (USA, Canada) in a TS-L633C unit that's sold for the Region 2 market (Japan, Europe, South Africa, Middle East, Greenland). But this is not so much relevant anymore because Windows 10 cannot play DVD video discs anyway, not without paying an extra premium or getting a third party solution.
Update: Upon closer inspection I see that A07 and A08 appear to be DELL internal version numbers for their various laptop models. The A07 contains "L633CDW50.bin" (firmware DW50) and A08 contains "L633CDW60.bin" (firmware DW60). Both of these can be downloaded directly from DELL using the links below. The date stamps below are taken from the "Version.txt" files are most likely to be dates when the DELL update packages were created, and not necessarily when the firmware files were created. I have also included some info on what issues these upgrades are intended to fix. Also note that these DELL packages contain the TSDNWIN tool needed for doing the upgrade (1.00.c), in addition to the "TSDNDOS.EXE" tool for DOS.
It's an original Toshiba help article ("TSST" is Toshiba and Samsung) on how to upgrade the firmware of "TS-L633C" from TO01 to TO02, and from TF01 to TF02. It also shows you how to identify the drive model and firmware version you have using Device Manager as well as flashing the firmware using TSDNWIN.
Note that the automatic firmware download button no longer works. That's because TSST has been out of business since around 2016 and the servers have gone offline. But if you have the firmware image file you can use this tool to upgrade the drive. This is what the Toshiba help article would have you use.
I have been watching some Region 2 dvds and have been switching back and forth between Region 1 and Region 2 without knowing that I could only do this 5 times. Now when I put in a US dvd, it says that I cannot change the region. Does anyone know a workaround to allow changing of regions more than 5 times?
I have done a bit of reading and saw a discussion that said that this is a firmware setting in the DVD drive. Is there a way to reset this back to the default through updating OS or reinstalling software?
It is a firmware issue, which has nothiing to do with the OS, so updating it or reinstalling isn't going to solve your problem. What you need is a way to change the firmware, which might be possible, but if it is, it's at your own risk, and you would definitely void your warranty.
Might not be easy. Some years ago, it wasn't hard to find region free drives from a fair number of manufacturers. But I've looked a few times in the past year or two "just because", and I don't recall seeing even one.
As you've found this a firmware issue with the drive (insisted on by the same companies who like suing downloaders). There's no fix via the OS, and no region hacks like you can get on some standalone players.
Sorry, that's not true. It's been done before by many people with great success. Even Apple can do it, if they choose. But before we can determine if it can be done for his model, we have to know what model it is and the installed drive.
I've never understood why Apple still uses drives with region settings. You can buy optical drives literally anywhere that are region free. It's actually difficult to find one that has region limitations.
This mostly depends on your DVD drive. Testing it is usually the quickest way to find out. The problem is that a lot of newer drives are RPC2 drives these days. Some of these drives don't allow raw access to the drive untill the drive firmware has done a regioncheck. VLC uses libdvdcss and it needs raw access to the DVD drive to crack the encryption key. So with those drives it is impossible to circumvent the region protection. (This goes for all software. You will need to flash your drives firmware, but sometimes there is no alternate firmware available for your drive). On other RPC2 drives that do allow raw access, it might take VLC a long time to crack the key.
