Dear all

Just a quick note to say well done for getting the exhibition and catalogue together (just) in time for yesterday's opening. I know some of you put in a great amount of effort.

It has been a pleasure for us to teach you this past year. It is incredible how quickly the time disappears. I hope you have all enjoyed the course and gained from it.

Two key requests:

1. Stay in touch
Do let us know what you do next and how things develop for you, whether you have already travelled back to your home country or are planning to stay in London for some time. It is great to follow the progress of former students and to link up again somewhere in the future. There is now a huge network of people who go out into the world into a variety of sorts of role, and we follow this with great interest. Sometimes this can lead to recommendations for potential jobs or employees, and sometimes we want to be able to put you in touch with future students whose project work or research has similarities with yours...

2. Pass on the baton
For those of you staying in London, even if only for a few weeks, please make some time to introduce yourself to the new students who start this week. Give them helpful advice and recommendations. Whatever we say, it has more power if it is reinforced by those who have just passed through the course. Help them as much as you can with immediate practical things - like getting set up in the studio and settled into the school - and longer term advice about developing and recording project work through the year.

As I think you know, we are mid-way through the assessment process reviewing the work you have just completed. I can assure you that the process is highly rigorous and fair to everyone. The results should get through the system next month.

Best wishes

Jonathan and Ilaria
