VARIOUS ROADS- EDINBURGH

PROPOSED INTRODUCTION OF SECURE ON-STREET CYCLE PARKING PLACES

 

I refer to our previous letter of 6 March 2026 regarding the above.

 

In accordance with the terms of the Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 1999, I write to inform you that the City of Edinburgh Council proposes to advertise the Traffic Regulation Orders which will

 

1. Replace a resident permit parking place, that operates Mon-Fri 8:30am to 5:30pm, with a cycle hangar on Brunton Pl, Bryson Rd, Caledonian Cres, Cambusnethan St, Dean Park St, Duff St x2, Easter Rd, Forbes Rd, Gillespie Cres, Grange Ln, Iona St x2, Learmonth Gro, Milton St, Montgomery St, Polwarth Gdns, Springwell Pl and Temple Park Cres;

 

2. Replace a shared use parking place, that operates Mon-Fri 8:30am to 5:30pm, with a cycle hangar on Balfour St, Brunton Ter, Bryson Rd, Dalmeny St, Forbes Rd, Harrison Rd, Montgomery St, Wellington Pl and West Bryson Rd;

 

3. Replace daytime waiting restrictions, that operate Mon-Fri 8:30am to 5:30pm, with a cycle hangar on Warrender Park Ter; and

 

4. Replace part of a resident permit parking place, that operates Mon-Fri 8:30am to 5:30pm, and a 24 hour waiting restriction with a cycle hangar on Newton St

 

The proposals relating to this Order can be viewed online at consultation.appyway.com/edinburgh-city, from 01/05/26 to 22/05/26 by following the link to “Proposals in consultation” under reference TRO/25/57. Alternatively, you can view the documents free of charge at Waverley Court Reception between 9:30 & 15:30 Monday to Friday during the same period. You can also register for email or text alerts via the Tell Me Scotland portal at www.tellmescotland.gov.uk which also provides details of this proposal.

 

Should you wish to submit an objection to the proposal, please follow the “Respond to consultation” button during the period specified above.

 

All objections should state the name and address of the objector, the matters to which they relate and the grounds on which they are made. If you are responding to this consultation and your comments or objection relate to any particular location/s or element/s of the proposals, it would be helpful if you could identify those in your response.
