Hope this email finds you well.
Thank you for your continued support regarding the delivery of the new public toilet facilities across our parks.
I would like to provide a brief update specifically on the toilets at The Meadows, in light of the upcoming Meadows Festival on the 7 and 8 of June.
As previously communicated, we were aiming to have the facility operational by the start of June. However, a combination of unexpected issues on site has required us to address them to ensure the facility is safe, accessible, and compliant before opening. As a result, the official opening date is now to be confirmed.
The key challenges we have encountered include:
- A defect identified during inspection in the Changing Places cubicle, where the door couldn’t open fully due to the floor level. This required immediate adjustment of the resin-bound surface to resolve.
- A delay in the completion of the boardwalk surfacing, caused by a supply error with materials. This work is now due for completion by end of next week.
- We are still awaiting confirmation from EDF for the final meter installation, which is required to power the unit.
Despite these setbacks, we are working with our contractor to resolve the remaining items quickly and safely. We are closely coordinating with EDF and are continuing daily checks on progress.
To ensure extra provision during the Meadows Festival, we will be putting in place temporary toilet cover, including:
- 3 individual standard portable toilets
- 1 accessible portable unit
We fully understand how important it is for park users to have access to facilities, and we are doing everything possible to mitigate the impact of these final delays.
I will continue to keep you updated as soon as we have confirmation on the revised opening date.
