Dear VCC
members,
We are excited to introduce the esteemed coordinator of the MarbleTech project, The University of Pisa (UNIPI). As a public institution with a rich heritage and deep roots in its local community, UNIPI is fully integrated into the international scientific community, making it the perfect fit for this ambitious endeavor.
The MarbleTech project comes as a response to the evolving landscape of the Ornamental Marble sector, a vital contributor to the construction industry. From interior and exterior flooring to artistic sculptures and historical restorations, the sector plays a significant role in reflecting the prosperity, history, and culture of people. However, with radical changes sweeping the European marble industry, it is clear that the demand for specialized skills and qualifications is on the rise.
In this dynamic context, the MarbleTech project seeks to address the evolving needs of the industry, fostering the development of specialized technical skills while emphasizing environmental assessment, work safety, and new technologies training.
MarbleTech is aligned with the European general trend of fostering new sector-specific skills, acknowledging that by 2025, nearly half of all job openings in the EU will require higher qualifications.
Under the experienced leadership of The University of Pisa (UNIPI), with its twenty departments encompassing various fields of teaching and research, MarbleTech is poised to make a transformative impact. This collaboration promises to nurture skilled professionals, foster innovation, and ensure a thriving marble sector that enriches lives and celebrates the history and culture of nations.
We invite all
