The preparations are progressing as planned for this event – less than 3 days away now! The news of the Cricket Tournament got published in a Wokingham paper today. See you all on Sunday.

Dear all,

 

Just as the British Summer starts taking shape, we are delighted to bring to you all this popular yearly event on Sunday 1^st July – from 7:30am to almost 8pm!!

 

We are looking forward to welcoming you all to enjoy 16 teams battling it out to be the Winner.

 

A breakfast of Bread Omelette and Pohe with Tea (from around 8am) and then for Lunch we will have a choice of Chole-Jeera Rice & Naan, Biryani, Paratha n Paneer Masala, Kacchhi Dabeli, Amrakhand, Hot & Cold beverages, Thandai & Ice Cream!!

 

The Venue – Shinfield Cricket Club, Millworth Lane, Shinfield RG2 9EN

 

There is very limited parking at the Venue so we suggest that you avail of a parking that’s a five minutes’ walk from the Club grounds opposite the Shinfield View Care Home RG2 9EH– see below

 

 

Please also carry enough cash on you although there’s a cash machine at the Esso petrol station at RG2 9DY which is also a five minutes’ walk from the Venue.

 

The day always proves to be a nice day out with some nail biting cricket, delicious food and drinks and socialising.

Evening all,

 

Less than 12 hours are now remaining. The final pitch inspection took place two hours ago 😊.

 

We are writing tonight to pass on some essential notes for tomorrow for everyone’s information, so that all of you can enjoy the day with minimal inconvenience.

 

1. We will have a traffic warden on Millworth Lane between 7 to 11AM, to prevent us from parking on Millworth Lane – if you are a stall holder, please let the warden know.
2. It is predicted to be a hot day with temperature crossing the 30 mark. Needless to mention, but all of us need to remain hydrated – we have made arrangement for water & juices so you can take benefit of this however these will be on offer only till stocks last. Please Come equipped with water/sunscreen/hats, etc. We are trying to put marquee/tent for shade
3. No parking on Millworth Lane. Park at the School Green Car Park opposite the pub
4. Have change on you for food – nearest cash machine is at the Esso Petrol Pump
5. Take care of the kids
6. Watch out for the Cricket ball as more than one game will be on at the same time
