Provenance and artifical collections - to restore or not to restore?

I am working on a conference proposal (I was thinking a roundtable discussion format) to address artificial collections, and the pros, cons, and challenges of restoring provenance to collections that have been dispersed in the past.  I will be out of town starting June 28th, so please email before then if you are interested in this topic.
