download of MapSurfer.NET-2.5.1.setup_win.exe is blocked by Avast antivirus service.  It is alerting with category Win32:Malware-gen on object MapSurfer.Web.Services.dll
I'm trying to download from this URL

Hi Philipp

The original .NET assemblies have been obfuscated. That's why some antiviruses such as Avast detect footprints of malware in it.
In the next release, I might remove obfuscation completely.

Hi ,

I have same problem on MapSurfer.Web.Services.dll.
http://update.mapsurfernet.com/windows/2.4/MapSurfer.NET-2.4-setup_win.exe also have same problem and it's removed from nuget database.
I think better to delete 2.4 installer on the site.

Thanks.

Hi Hirofumi,

I am currently working on a new version 2.6 in which the code obfuscation is going to be removed.
Within next few weeks, this version will be available for public.
Furthermore, you can already try it out. Here is the link to download https://docs.google.com/uc?export=download&confirm=0Jco&id=0BwKq40HTyJ0LT1FUMG5aa0JLdEE.

Nuget package will be also restored.

Best regards,
Max

Hi Runge,

I tried the link above for v2.6, and it's still blocked by Symantec end point protection. I really want to use this in an internal project. Please help.

Hi Srinivas,

Could you provide some more information about how Symantec blocks the software?
Is the installer blocked or Symantec does not like some assemblies when you launch an app?

The installer, that you have tried out, have been checked by Virustotal several weeks ago. No suspicious elements were found, including Symantec.

Btw, you can try another more recent build which I have published just yesterday. You can find it here.

Hi Runge,

I tried the latest build at home, and my AVG Antivirus did not find any issue.
Will try it at work and see if it works with Symantec.
BTW - is there any API documentation available for the nuget package?
