Empty example windows

Hi everyone. This is my spec:

OS Version                   : Windows 8 Professional, 6.2.9200.0 Workstation AMD64 (but actually i use Windows 10 1607 up-to-date)

Screen DPI                   : 96 (1.00x)
Screen resolution            : 1920x1080
Physical memory              : 15.9 GB
Working Set Memory           : 166.9 MB
GC Heap Memory               : 14.0 MB

Just have tried to open examples from the official mapsurfernet github repo and all can i see is empty widows:

What can be wrong with it?

Hello!

It seems that data sources for the layers in your project have not been properly initialized.
See a screenshot below to find steps that might help you to find an issue.

Open Project Explorer docker window. Select one of the layers. Then, in a property grid below click on DataSource element and check IsInitalized property. You can also take a look at Events Log window, there are might be some warnings.

Note, that a directory on your disk (for example, MapSurfer.NET-Examples-master\MapData\) where shapefiles or osm files are stored, must have write permissions. MapSurfer tries to build spatial indices and save them on a disk.

How can I reinitialize this Data Source? And what is the best solution for the troubleshooting?
As I can see, I do not have necessary fonts installed.

You can reinitialize a data source by clicking Update Data Source menu item. A corresponding context menu can be called with a right button click on a layer element.


In order to resolve an issue with fonts, you can either install missing fonts or edit FontFiles collection (see numbers in the figure below) and use fonts that are installed on your machine.
