Poll - FR: Embedded Map with widgets or Embed Dashboard

Hi to all MapStore fans,

I have a question / poll / potential feature request.

The embed map functionality does not show any widgets and charts created within the map. A potential request is to either to update the code in order to show widgets in embedded maps, or to add the embed-functionality to Dashboards in order to create a Dashboard from a map, configure widgets and then embed this Dashboard.

Does anybody else would like this feature? If so, which one do you prefer?

Hi,

I can give my technical opinion. 

At the moment the embedding functionality is limited to the map because the map shared is usually small (typically in an iframe inside a page) and so having the widgets upon a small map could be annoying. Moreover, to make the map load faster, the embedded version of the map has a minimal bundle with only the necessary to show the map, not including the chart library or any other plugin not necessary for the map.

I think that sharing dashboard could be more functional and useful, but it's my opinion. Embedded dashboard should not include top or left bar (like now if you include the row dashboard into an iframe. https://jsfiddle.net/offtherailz/ny420kg9/ ) and maybe be more adaptive to fit various Iframe sizes (now it has only one layout for mobile - 1 column - and one for desktop - 6 columns, we should investigate to see what we can do to make it fit good in different sizes). Maybe the share tool could provide some options to fit it accordingly. It could be interesting

Hello, I'm new to Mapstore and I've come across a similar issue. I'm trying to embed my map along with all the widgets on another page using the API. However, when I attempt to load the page separately, my widgets disappear. Do you have any insights on why this is happening? Is sharing maps with widgets outside the tool's website done differently? I appreciate any help you can provide. Thank you!

Hi, 

the embedded map use a set of different plugins by default, to reduce the bundle size (so reducing loading time) and to adapt to the space used.

Edit configs/localConfig.json --> plugins --> embedded and add the "Widgets" plugin to the list to make them visible in embedded mode too.
