WFS search & authkey module

Dear all.

I would like to know, how to use wfs seach with authkey module.

Now I get this error:

This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below.

<ows:ExceptionReport xmlns:xs="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:ows="http://www.opengis.net/ows" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" version="1.0.0" xsi:schemaLocation="http://www.opengis.net/ows http://185.108.182.146/geoserver/schemas/ows/1.0.0/owsExceptionReport.xsd">

<ows:Exception exceptionCode="MissingParameterValue">

<ows:ExceptionText>

The query should specify either typeName, featureId filter, or a stored query id

</ows:ExceptionReport>

If access for wfs layer/workspace is granted to any role, then all is working fine.

Hi,

Sorry for the late response.

This error seems doesn't seem to be related to authkey but seems more like an issue due to the wrong request, probably because something is missing in WFS Search configuration. 

Can you please share the full request that originated this error and the configurations you used?

I think problem is in mapstore authkey configuration.

I just sent my local config file and geoserver security directory to Mauro.

Solution of my problem was

The GeoServer authkey module must be configured to use the webservice authentication key mapper to work with mapstore.

The web service url, if mapstore2 is running on a local tomcat on port 8080 is:

http://localhost:8080/mapstore/rest/geostore/session/username/{key}

did you try looking at the GeoServer authkey docs here: https://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/community/authkey/index.html ?

Can I ask which kind of clients will use GeoServer through the authkey authentication? This is very important to understand how you would implement authkey.

I have attached the document where i was stucked and my concern mainly on " Creating/Generating WFS service from Geoserver and then use it through user name , Password and also via APi..

I have successfully Implemented with username and password but Im stucked in API(If i share this APi there wont be username and Password )

Good morning Muhammad.

First question: are you going to use MapStore as a client? Because this is a MapStore centered mailing list.

If you want to ask for help on GeoServer, not related to MapStore integration I would suggest asking on the GeoServer mailing lists where more people would be able to answer.

For MapStore integration using API, the documentation Evgenii sent is the place to start.

In particular, here: https://github.com/geosolutions-it/MapStore2/wiki/MapStore2-users-GeoServer-integration-with-Authkey#configure-geoserver

If you follow those instructions they explain how to configure the GeoServer authkey module so that authentication is made against MapStore users database.

If something is not clear on that document, please let me know, I would be glad to integrate what's missing or not clear.
