encourage them to apply for membership directly, or else provide me an
email address to which I can send an invitation.

All are welcome who are adults and are not known to have violated the
groundrules of this forum elsewhere (i.e., no attacks on children in
the community, no threats, no posting others' personal info).

Posters banned from other forums for airing unpopular views are
especially welcome.

Well, Mr. Reingold has dragged me out of hiding with his invitation to
join. I kicked my MOL habit at the end of August. Either the Politics
section on MOL has become dominated by extreme viewpoints or I have
just grown tired of the same old arguments. Well, hopefully, I can
enjoy this board without suffering addiction.

I suppose extreme viewpoints are to be expected in any internet forum,
but at least one can hope that moderate viewpoints will be expressed
here with radical vigor.
