Map file creation - fine tuning

Dear mapsforge team,

I tried to create maps including elevation lines. There are some regions, mostly in the Alps, where no contour lines are visible. There are some small regions with blank areas (see attached file). But in the hiking map of OSM there are elevation lines in the area. So I think that these areas are the result of the simplification algorithm, because the original data are available in the .osm files.

Is there a way to make fine tuning of the map file writer?

To understand what is happening there, could you please submit the input data cut down to the area that is problematic (maybe 1km around or so).

I looked at the input data again. Now I think that the problem is the input data and not the mapfile writer.
The map file created out of a very small area like shown in the screenshot, contains no ways. So I thought that it was a problem of the mapfile writer.
