Gran Canaria

Hi,

I'm currently on Gran Canaria.
I wanted to use your Spain Map here and downloaded it, just to find out that Gran Canaria is not covered. :-(
I have no Computer with me, so I cannot produce my own map file.
Could maybe someone compile a Gran Canaria map file and provide it for download?
That would be really great.

They are in a distance and the produced map would have a large bounding box with many empty areas. Probably we should produce a separate map for them.

For now you can check OpenAndroMaps which has a Canary Islands map.

Ludwig I see we have Canary Islands polygon (along with others in Africa folder) in map creator.

Any reason why they are not included in the process?
(For Africa we have only a big map file)

I think the simple reason is that in addition to the polygons we need a map start position to define the individual maps. This is not difficult, but takes a bit time (I think the convention is to put the start position in the capital). 

The file to edit is the xml/example-config.xml. 

I might do this one day, but not any time soon....

The capital for each country I think is a valid map center for everywhere.

I know I have said to revisit the map creator, but I have not found time yet :(

Indeed i first looked at MF for Spain and then Gran Canaria and as I didn't find something, looked for the same on AM.
Later I had the idea to look for Canary Islands, but only searched on MF, not AM.
The Canary Islands map of AM works fine, thanks.

And yes, I guess if you will provide maps of the Canary Islands it should maybe be a separate map.
