Receiving map movement / zoom notifications / Branches and Revisions of MapsForge

Hello all,

is there a possibility to get notifications (callback) if user scrolls or zooms the map?

By the way, I am totally new to mapsforge and a little bit confused about versions. There's a version 0.30 from early 2012, a 0.31 from late 2012 and a "0.31 rewrite" from present. Since my work is really experimental and I'm not dependent on a 100% working version, which should I use? In other words, which will be the next release? Will there be future releases of "traditional" branch, or will it be discontinued?

If I'm encouraged to use "rewrite" branch - is there a simple "hello world" example?

Hey,

I'm using the 0.3.1 snapshot version. The whole system will be rewritten and therefor there is the rewrite branch and its version.

See the Rewrite application under Applications/Android for a hello world example of this.

But keep in mind that this version is very fluid :) thanks to the active mapsforge dev(s)!
