This is an invitation to a public lecture by a cohort of professors and researchers from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). The main thrust of their visit to New Zealand is to develop student exchange and student development programmes. The details of the event are as follows:

 

Date: 28th September, 2011 (Wednesday)

Time: 1-2pm

Venue: Tentatively 303S-279 (University of Auckland’s Science Centre) – will notify the confirmed venue on Monday or Tuesday

 

The talk will be on Malaysia including such topics as,

 

·         Bitalateral relationships

·         Cultural diversity and heritage

·         Eco tourism assets in Malaysia

·         Tourism in Malaysia and Visit Malaysia 2007 project

·         The Malaysian Nature Society, it role, functions and projects

·         A vision of partnership with Maori and Indigenous tourism

·         Empowering the younger generation on the need to gain knowledge and wisdom of a modern society

·         The importance of education for achievement of Indigenous peoples self determination

 

I encourage Malaysian students who are interested or are involved in the above-mentioned topics and research areas to attend this public lecture. Below are the profiles of the speakers.
