Orphaned sub localities

Dear All. Aslamo Alaikum

I am new member of this forum, started Google edit a month ago. Live in Lahore in Nespak Housing society, near Wapda Town. Was interested in updating places around me. Then, encouraged by momers, during many of my reviews, i started looking into sub localities and localities. I found most of the sub localities, except those in planned housing developments, are orphaned. I mean no locality to which they r part off. This creates address attribute anomalies. Things r easy in southern Lahore, but as u proceed north, it is all messed up. e.g i wanted to map Multan road, which is a dual c/way, but is indicated as single carriageway on Google. During the process, i was not allowed to edit, due to missing localities and sub localities. I tried to do name some ares on my local knowledge, but was timely checked by momers, and asked me not to do this on my own.  I work in Nespak as road engineer, and can try to get some info through my official contacts. Since i am involved in Lahore Ring Road (LRR) Project, i did extensive site survey during alignment studies, especially in the Southern Loop of LRR and well worse of the southern of Lahore. Now how to proceed in this direction?. I need guidance from my seniors in this matter. Thanks.

Yes its issue with North Lahore with localities and sub-localities, and with MM updates its hard to create any feature without assigning locality and sub-locality is system think there should be. sub-locality issue is old areas as locations such as Sant Nagar as I know it is not very big in size, and we added them as sub-localities, but we don't have any locality on top of them. in start we were thinking to add Towns of Lahore as locality to them, but in new developments we faced other issue. developments have also there sub-localities so we can't use locality layer for town there..
We discussed this issue in other thread here  and decide to redo this in Lahore and Karachi, and use locality feature for developments and if they has sub-localities then use that as well, and use sub-district feature to map towns in City districts in PK, like Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi. 

so if you find any sub-locality in north Lahore and you are sure it does not have locality on top of it make it locality and post a link in this thread we will review that for you.

You background and occupations makes you a very important person for this team! You can get us good official information! Will collaborate on that later!

AS for Sub localities, not all neighbourhoods are part of a bigger locality...hence such areas are mapped as Sub-locality/neighbourhood. These neighbourhoods might be part of a n old bigger locality like..say...Gawalmandi...it can have many small mohallas or colonies which are to be mapped as sub locality.neighbourhood. But again, not all sub localities have a parent locality, they are independent locations within the city. So dont worry if some sub localities dont have a Locality parent.

As for multan road. the issue you are facing is due to the fact that many areas have overlapping or closeby boundaires and when you EDIT multan road, the system cant clearly resolve what locality/sub locality to place that part of the road in. The best way to fix this is

1. either delete the road and then redraw.

2. modify the locality boundaires.

I prefer delete and redraw. I am waiting for new imagery for the entire multan road and then we can redraw the entire road and make it split.

BTW, i was on Multan road the other day and there are many small mohallas and neighbourhoods and colonies on the west bank of the road. I was unable to make a list or find a location. Would you be able to get info on all those neighbourhoods and then draw their polygons on the map...this way entire west bank of Multan road will be populated.
