Good. I also have good tools for urdu and I may upload if there is
interest. Special is Urdu keyboard which I've checked on WinXP and
Vista. Its key mapping is very nice as:
a for "ا"
n for "ن"
g for "گ"
etc.

layout may help second category of people.

the most quicker way of editing in urdu but ofcourse if you have good
typing hand in roman urdu.
@Ahmad

Right.. Actually yes there is a phonetic keyboard layout that replaces the default Urdu keyboard layout of Microsoft. I am also using the same one and can be downloaded from http://www.crulp.org/software/localization/keyboards/CRULPphonetickbv1.1.html There are complete instructions for installation as well. If Ahmad has any other good tool, that would be great to know.

Cheers

And I think yes! the Native XP Urdu keyboard layout exchanging is a
good option to be as the Phonetic keyboard layout is very well known
and easy to get remember with normal English keyboard layout

I was using the keyboard from PakSign Technologies. It is nice and the
zip file includes an image file containing necessary help. It can be
downloaded from:

http://www.paksign.com/downloads/urdu-paksign-keyboard%20old%201.zip

The one reffered by Jabran is developed by FAST-NUCES but I've not
used that as I was already used to with "paksign" keyboard layout.
www.crulp.org also contains many other tools for urdu, including urdu
fonts. These tools make urdu editing a fun using any software
primarily used for English

For those who have extreme love with Urdu, Microsoft has Urdu Language
Interface Pack (LIP) for XP at:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=0db2e8f9-79c4-4625-a07a-0cc1b341be7c&displaylang=ur

It determines our love and our knowledge for our own language. I think
almost whole PC is now available in Urdu
