I am just checking.
Just thought that it would be nice to have somewhere with some combined Costa Rica info to direct the numerous people mapping Costa Rica. There seems to be a lot of people mapping, but everyone seems to be doing their own thing. I think most want the map to be accurate but sadly it appears some are using the map as their personal playground.
I have already read the info about Political Divisions. It is a mess without them on the map, but getting them on the map is not going to be easy if we want it done right. Many districts are divided along rivers and high res satellite view for the whole country would be needed to do it right and have it match the images. I can not imagine trying to go back and adjust everything again after the satellite view is updated. I got cadd files of my area from the local municipality last year... they have a long ways to go before it is usable.
I saved the info you posted on the road naming. I seriously doubt that streets in my area will ever be named, much least ever see street signs in my area. There are a few roads that have names per the topo maps but very few people know them. The guy at the municipalidad who is creating the cadd drawing said he wanted to name all the streets in the canton or at least in the area that has been plotted, but he said that the higher ups said it was a waste of time and money.
