Thanks so much for all your help. We've seen a huge increase in edits
in Haiti over the last few days so we know you're working hard to make
this data available to the world.
The Google Map Maker and Imagery teams have moved quickly to make new
post-disaster imagery of the greater Port-au-Prince area taken on
January 13, 2010 by GeoEye available to you to map with. You can
access it directly within Map Maker by clicking the "Hybrid" or
"Satellite" views and checking the box next to "Haiti imagery" that
appears beneath it. (Note that you will need to be zoomed in far
enough to see this new imagery.) I have been told by the Imagery team
that this new imagery is likely more accurately aligned than the pre-
disaster imagery we currently have.
I have and will continue to update the Mapping Haiti sites page with
more data as we receive it: http://sites.google.com/site/mappinghaiti/
thanks for mapping,
~jessica
The team has now updated Map Maker with even newer and better aligned
post-disaster base imagery. The "Haiti Imagery" check box has thus
been removed.
thanks for mapping,
