Already very hype, I cannot believe they allow you to customize your robot. I already think I know how I ant him to look, but it is time to take a look at exactly what I can do before I begin to come up with ideas.
Destruction moves are moves that destroy a piece of a robot that is badly damaged, either an arm or the head (The head results in a direct KO). Tech moves are unblockable moves that have slow start up but deal great damage but leave you open if you are not careful with them.
As I enter the second match somethings become very apparent about this game. Power is something that rules a lot more than speed does, at least from what I am seeing now. My opponent is going around in an airplane motion, hitting me even when I manage to sidestep. Also, this particular opponent swings his arms like a windmill and walks towards you, adjusting towards your direction even when you see it coming and sidestep, making you continually have to move in order to avoid it, and you will still get hit even then. The opponent after him is even worse. It is very hard to move up, which is why I think they have those robots available on the Xbox Live Marketplace, and why they have up to 100 Repair Kits you can buy with Microsoft Points and even Cash available for purchase.
Real Steel was an excellent movie on a concept that was a bit far-fetched but actually managed to deliver nicely. A game based on it with robot boxing could very well work. It seemed they had very good potential and setup the game in a way that it could achieve its effect, but at the cost of too many things in order to try and gain money, or least it appears to me; does not even start off with a basic function of being able to let you do something as simple as choose the color of your robot.
Grinding for money is not fun and fights can be frustrating. I think this game had potential but was executed poorly in the end. My advice for anyone would be to avoid this game, seeing as it is a hybrid of boxing from Fight Night along with the robot building mechanics of Armored Core, but lack luster in each category.
I bought this game about 4 days ago. I love it and so does my son. Its not a big deal about painting your robot. You should have to unlock/buy it. In no way should it be a freebee or a handme out. Also its a arcade game which doesn't take to much patience to gear your bot as with every fight you earn money to buy new gear and parts. I played this game for a solid day and unlocked everything I needed to beat this game just took a little time. So do not let this thread keep you from buying this game.
The mechanics of the game are similar to all boxing games minus the using kicks in this game. If you like Rockem Sockem Robots then by all means buy this game because you will love it like me and my son do. A little effort never hurts anyone.
I bought this game straight after i saw the movie. The game was executed very well. This is not a game for patience all you have to do is grow levels in speed power guard etc. then you can unlock new gear to make your robot stronger.
I found this game very fun. Yes you have to buy the choice to color your robot and get new levels or awesome parts but look the game is only ten dollars. They have to have some way in making you pay so they can balance it out to the price of a original xbox game.
I bought the game 2 days ago and can't stop playing it i like it my girl friend likes it my 3 little brothers like it and all there friends do to. My battle ratings already at 7338 you just have to play it once i get the head and body im trying to unlock ill be over 9000 with out any DLC's purchases except the designer. Come on the game was only 10 dollars COD zombie maps are 1200 points i would rather have an awesome game for 800 points. Personaly it sounds like you barely played the game and came to trash it. So we're supposed to listen to you cause the game didn't feed you with a silver spoon or are we supposed to feel bad for you because you haven't learned one of lifes golden rules you have to work hard to get nice things.
I have 2 bots "MIDNIGHT" my bot and "THE FALLEN" im building up for my girlfiend started another when my brothers little friend spent the night but he didnt get a name and got sold the next day to help get MIGNIGHT some new arms
I bought the game and beat the first part of the match modes and thought it would be fun o go online (my bot at the time was 2000 tbr) i found a player and the same thing happend to me i got owned like no tommorow but unlike you i didnt give up, i continued, i beat the entire game using different styles and learned from my mistakes when fighting the com bots and thats what makes us different as gamers, you gave up when I endured and now I have over 1000 kills online and i built some of the best bots with no downloaded parts.
but yes this game has players where they use unfair tactics like using a bot with nothing but speed and attack and only spamming (using the same attack over and over) but they are pretty obvious when you see a guy with parts you never saw before that means leave the match cause he will mostlikelly use unfair advantages against you.
and if you ever need a hand or help with a bot let me know i love this game and id like to help players so they dont get a ''bad tast'' from dick players, my gamer tag is Drako Dragonis message me and il give you a hand
and i just read more about your so called ''review'' and 1. when you are down you only need to tap the X,Y,A or B NOT use you thumb stick and 2. you usually get 1 FREE repair kit per battle so you dont need to buy them. 3. they tell you to use repair kits because you need money for more higher lvld parts. 4. to get the parts you WANT you NEED to lvl your bots speed, offense, guard, performance and destruction, so in other words to lvl up you guard just stand there and guard all attacks. 5. the first bot you buy is a STANDARD TYPE one has speed the other has power and the other has a little bit of both but them being STANDARD means you need to mix and match all three of them ex: i chose the power bot but i added th speed bots legs so on and so on. 6. And finally if your gona give a ''review'' on a game make shure you play it enought to know what your talking about because after reading that i found you to be a lazzy gamer that doesnt want to work for anything, you want everything handed to you, yeah the game isnt perfect there will always be dick players but you need to learn the game before you trash talk it because that makes you seem like the dick.
You realize I am not lazy as I play ACTUAL FIGHTING GAMES. TEKKEN Tag Tournament 2, Killer Instinct, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade Edition, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, and that's just to name a few.
The problem with this game is that it takes massive amounts of grinding to get anywhere in the game at all. You even go on to talk about in the post over this one about "Unfair Tactics" as there are no such things; you are saying that this game has overbearing exploits which makes it easy to win, even at high level.
Besides, this game deals more with statistics than it does with actual player skill which is not good for a fighting game. Personally, they tried to give it a mix of Armored Core and Fight Night but it lacks in both areas.
it is a different brand of fighting game its NOT supposed to be like the others and your reviews are wrong and you dont need to ''grind'' all you need is patience and you can get a very good bot. In your post you said you had a bot arround 500 tbr that means you played the game for maybe 10 minutes until getting bored because you didnt know how to use the help options and they even give you a tutorialon how to play if you will review a game make shure you know what your talking about cause i can ''review'' games also like cod sucks its a game for little noobs that cant play a decent shooter, i say that because i played the game for 2 hours and didnt like it.
It is a bad game, it is not about "Sucking at it" or not. In fact, the main games I play are fighting games and I am NATURALLY bad at them, but when a game is actually good I play it enough to learn. If you check out my YouTube at YouTube.com/RoKtheReaper, you will see I have videos of me in the following games.
I will also soon be putting up videos of me playing Killer Instinct on the Xbox One. Why would a person who obviously play LOADS of fighitng game that all take LOADS of time to be good and master, talk bad about one XBLA game that he "Sucks" at if it weren't true?
