Una discusión sobre el nombre oficial de la PR-133 que traviesa Ponce. Mi último comment...

"You should add the name "Cll Comercio" as a "Primary" name. That way it will display over others. According to my own research, it seems Calle Comercio is the correct name. Wikipedia should not be considered a reliable source. If anyone here could bring photographic evidence that would be great. It seems since we have two locals disputing the issue it would be best to solve it this way. The pictures should not be of buildings but of street signs indicating the official name of the street. I believe that would be best. "

Thank you for fixing the posting. It seems the messages are now sticking.

I upload several photos to here but didn't "stick". I eventually just pointed to the place in flickr where they can be viewed and put a link here: http://www.google.com/mapmaker?ll=20.632784,-70.664062&spn=79.624809,149.238281&z=3&lyt=large_map&mid=1328882505056

In any event, the pics are found here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/74513229@N03/

If the photos MUST still be added to this forum as well, I can do that too. Let me know. Regards.

- Thanks again for fixing the problem with postings not sticking to the forum board.

I didn't do anything, but the email notifications I got contained your original posts, so I was worried why the posts had been deleted.

My doubt was, are we all on the same page?

Do we all want the street name to change to Calle Comercio?

Does someone want to keep the name Calle Francisco Parra Duperón?

I just wanted to respond to this once more in order to make my position unequivocal: I have done all the research possible on this issue including actual field trips, picture-taking, and historical research of government records related to the naming of this street and I found it has always gone by the name of "Calle Comercio". Against the voluminuos amount of sources that point to Calle Comercio as the name, I found only 2 evidences that there may have been an attempt in the past to rename the street: there is one author (Luis Fortuno Janeiro) who states the street was named Francisco Parra Duperon (bear in mind countless of other authors call it Calle Comercio -- before, during, and after the claim FPD naming--, and (2) there is an age-faded metal plate on one (and only 1) building at the SE corner of Calle Comercio and Calle Salud that says "Calle Francisco Parra Duperon" (bear in mind that some 8-10 other RECENT street signs that name it Calle Comercio, though). Out of these facts and realities, I say call it Calle Comercio (PRIMARY) and Calle Francisco Parra Duperon (Obscure). Regards.

I agree. Now, the edit originally in question does not allow me to see what changes were made so I have no justification to approve it or delete it. I am going to approve it and due to the concensus established in this thread someone just has to submit the appropriate changes so I can approve it!

I tried going into this feature to re-categorize its nbame as "obscure" and add the name "Cll Comercio" as primary, but the feature didn't have that option. I have instead used "Deny" which was availbale in the screnn presented. Please let me know if you can know see the changes so the name change can be approved. Thanks.
