We’re pleased to announce our Regional Conference schedule for 2012:

North America in Montreal, Canada - Mar 30-31

Middle East in Dubai, UAE - Jun 29-30

Africa in Lagos, Nigeria - Aug 24-25

Europe in Paris, France - Sep 7-8

Asia Pacific in Hyderabad, India - Nov 30-Dec1

Regional Conferences are a chance for top mappers, community leaders, and Google team members to meet each other and discuss how to strengthen the mapping communities in their neighborhood. (And they’re a ton of fun! Just ask anyone who attended last year. :) These conferences will be two-day long events, happening Fri and Sat, typically with presentations on the first day and an informal unconference session on the second. (See agendas examples from last year’s events.) Agenda will cover topics like MapUps, the Regional Expert Reviewers program, mapping tips and tricks, community development, and more. Conferences will be conducted in English. While there is no cost to attend, participants will be responsible for their own travel. Check out our events from from last year to get a better idea of what Regional Conferences look like.

If you are interested in attending one of these conferences, please fill out the application form here, along with your reasons for wanting to join. You will be informed of your application status a few months before each event. We hope to see many of you soon!

It contains all the information available on each of the events planned for this year, including some updates on the upcoming Montreal event. Hello Mappers!

We would like to inform you of a change in date and venue for the EMEA Map Maker Regional Conference. Originally, it was tentatively planned to be in Paris, France in September, but we have had to move it to Lyon, France on October 5-6. We will also directly contact everyone who has applied for the EMEA conference to notify them of the change so that we can confirm if you are still interested in attending at the new location and dates.

Also, if you have not already applied to take part in a regional conference and would like to, please sign up! We will start to process applications a few months before each scheduled event, and we will let you know at the earliest possible time if you have been to selected to attend.
