Hello Mappers,
With this release, pending edits on roads and other line features will no longer lock up the entire connecting network. Only the attributes that have changed, and are pending, will be locked. This allows you to edit other attributes associated with the same feature or any of the connecting features on the road network.
Scenario A: Pending Intersections locking up the connecting network
Earlier, if an intersection had a pending edit, then the roads connected to that pending intersection couldn’t be edited.
With this release, the roads connected to such a pending intersection will be editable.

Scenario B: Pending attribute changes on the same segment
Prior to this release, any pending edit on a segment would prevent that segment from being edited by other users.
Henceforth, the segment will be editable though the attributes modified in the pending edits will be blocked from editing by other users.

Scenario C: Pending segments locking up other connecting segments
Prior to this change, any geometry/attribute change on roads or other line features used to lock up the connected segments.
After this change, attributes and geometry of the connected segments will be editable.

Scenario D: Pending turn restrictions
Before this change, editing one turn restriction on an intersection locked up all the connecting turn restrictions.
Now, users can continue to edit connecting turn restrictions for that intersection.

Here are some of the things that Map Maker will still not allow:
Deleting a segment/intersection/route of a feature that has an edit pending on it.
Editing a feature that has a delete pending on it.
Editing a segment whose creation has not been approved.
If there is a pending edit that changes the geometry of a segment, then the location of the connected intersections will not be editable.
You can post your thoughts and suggestions on this update here.
As always, thanks to all of you for your diligent feedback, without which this would not have been possible.
Cheers, and Happy Mapping!
