I want to download the high resolution Lake Lanier Map for use in Google Earth or with Open Maps on my GPS equiped Panasonic Toughbook Computer. I run both Ubuntu Linux and Win7. I am trying to build an all-around boat computer and this of course would be idea!

Any ideas or help are appreciated!

So, you use Open Maps Projects resources, but don't share them back with other users....?

I am trying to get Android x86 running on my CF-19 Toughbook, mostly for Mapping applications.

Not sure what you mean but we don’t use Open Maps. Users upload their map images to the system which allow them be used on iOS or Android. The maps on upload are converted into a zip file containing up to hundreds of tile files which the app uses to display onto the screen.

A desktop app is certainly possible, most easily on macOS because of code sharing with iOS.
