Hey folks,
As you may know, I’m on the Mayor Wilson Transportation & Environment Transition Committee. We’re tasked with gathering input from community stakeholders on top policies and priorities for her transportation agenda. So I’m hosting a listening session to collect ideas around walking, biking, and streets for people policies for the new mayoral administration.
If you’re primarily interested in advocating for a specific bike lane or crosswalk this is not the right venue to do that. That kind of detailed project information just isn’t going to get used through this process, and I don’t want to waste anyone's time or disappoint anyone about that (we’ve all had enough frustrating outreach experiences with the city already!).
This event is about scalable policies, programs, and procedures that the Wilson administration could implement. Ideas like “what if we had a universal daylighting program at SDOT” or “the Low Pollution Neighborhoods program should be transformed to support pedestrian streets at the heart of every neighborhood nominated by community members” or “we need a process at SDOT where community members can nominate gaps in the bike network for consideration”
Does that distinction make sense? If so, I hope you’ll join me!
When: Thursday, January 29, 5:30 PM - 7:00 PM
Where: At the 9Zero Climate Innovation Hub (downtown Seattle)
How: RSVP required (we need to get a headcount for moderation and food): https://luma.com/7366g1jo

This is an extremely exciting time for our shared mission of making every neighborhood a great place to walk, bike, roll, and live! Thanks for all that you do to help make that vision a reality.
Safe travels,
