We are excited to see the completion of many much-anticipated projects that will make a huge difference to people walking, rolling, biking, and getting to transit across Seattle in 2021. Read about some of the new protected bike lanes, street crossings, and sidewalks we are thankful for this year
Fed up with leaves and mud making sidewalks and bike lanes dangerously slippery and inaccessible, our volunteers set out to do something. Here's what happened next. 
In the past 10 years, 27 people have been killed while walking, biking, and jogging along and across Aurora. The Aurora Reimagined Coalition is a group of activists, community organizations, businesses, and neighborhood groups who are determined to make it a safer street for everyone. We are hiring! 

We are currently hiring two positions: a Communications Director and a Development Director. Learn more and apply at seattlegreenways.org/jobs! Please feel free to share with job boards or people who might be interested! 

Our friends at the Seattle Parks Foundation are also hiring for a contractor to support Duwamish Valley Safe Streets. Learn more and apply

And Seattle Public Schools is hiring a Safe Routes to School Program Coordinator, which will make a huge difference in getting kids walking and rolling to school.

Celebrating recent grants
A huge thank you to to the Mobility Fund and the Sustainable Communities Funders for supporting our Whoose Streets? Our Streets!  BIPOC work group to review laws and policies governing the use of streets and also develop a vision of, and recommendations for, how our streets can be safe, thriving places without the use of armed police.

And a big thank you to People For Bikes and Spin for supporting our #UnGapTheMap campaign that will work to connect every Seattle neighborhood with safe places to bike.
