For v6.5 of MI, the standard symbols installed
with Mapinfo are all truetype fonts categorized as "symbol" in their
respective fontset and are located in your %System%\Fonts folder (eg
C:\Windows\Fonts)
The font file names (at least on MI 6.5) follow the
naming: TTMICG__.TTF for Mapinfo Carographic and TTMIOG__.TTF for Mapinfo
Oil & Gas... etc. etc.
The Mapinfo 3.0 Compatible "symbols" if still around on your
version of MI, are mere vector grapics contained in the Mapinfo "font file"
*.FNT.
Depending on your installation of MI, the *.FNT file may be
found in the MI program directory, or under the "_:\Documents and
Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\MapInfo\MapInfo\Professional\[YOUR MI VERSION
NUMBER]\Mapinfow.fnt"
MI "Custom" symbols created from bitmap images (*.bmp) are
stored yet in another location, usually in the user's "Documents and Settings"
folder as above.
Or similar to that, your milage may vary
:)
