Hello Group
I there a way in MI pro or by mapbasic code to graphically show points that are stacked in a map?

I have several addresses that are geocoded to the same lat lon. When I do an info on the point there may be multiple addresses under the point. Is there a way to show
stacked points as a different color?

Hi Tom,

You could add a column to your table (eg Pstack), and update that column with an identifier (Y or N) where appropriate. Then create a thematic layer using that column.

Thanks

Hi Tom

I hope I have understood your question properly .....

Assuming you have columns with the X/Y values in the data (if not you can run the Co-ordinate Extractor from the Tools menu), you can run an SQL query that will deliver a count of records with the same X/Y co-ordinates.

You then save the query result and then open this file and create points using the X/Y values.  Then, you can create a graduated symbol thematic map based on the “count” field that will clearly show where there are multiple coincident records.

End result .....

Hope this makes sense and helps.
