Hello all,

Our ICT section is in the process of testing SSL Inspection on all of our web traffic, which means that all SSL traffic is decrypted, inspected and re-signed with a different security certificate when it passes through our corporate firewall.  This presents a little bit of a problem for us in some cases as the issuer chain for https requests get broken and the speed of map tile requests from Google Maps and other sources are slowed, so we're currently trying to figure out what other areas are going to be affected.

I know that MapInfo Professional now has support for Bing maps, but I'm unsure whether these are requested via https.  Is anyone able to shed some light?

Thanks very much.

Ti.

A quick test using Fiddler shows that MI Pro doesn't seem to be using HTTPS for this communication.

The request is using URL's like this:

If you want to check other tools or products, I can recommend Fiddler that will monitor and report all your web traffic. There is probably other tools that does similar things.

Thanks very much Peter, at least that's one less thing to worry about!
