Problems printing background maps

Hi everyone,

we are having problems printing to pdf, for both the MapInfo pdf printer as a normal pdf printer.  We only get parts of the map that print, as you can see at the image below.  Reducing the dpi to 150 "sometimes" does the trick, but for our printing company 150 dpi is to less quality.  Anyone an idea how to fix this?

Try to enable the Subdivide Printing when printing to your PDF.

 

It’s a preference that can be found under Output Settings, Printing

subdivide printing is already enabled, so that won't work.

Have you tried specifying an Image Compression on the PDF Printer Driver?

HI Peter,

It seems to work when I put the compression on 9.  But why is it that when I print an image or 3, I Always get the message "Cannot print".  Only remedy is to reboot my pc and print aqain.  Is he saving any temporary files somewhere?

Not really sure.

Can you check how much memory you have available when you get these errors?

 

Doesn’t it help just to restart MapInfo Pro?

Hi Peter,

had some contact with our IT departement.  They emptied al the printer caches but that didn't work.  We found out that most times that it won't print it is due to an "overwriting" problem.  When we save the same document with different name on same location it works every time.  When we do an overwrite, it works sometimes.  No idea why???

Hi Peter,

I was retrying this afternoon to print the arial picture and got the same problem again, other background maps seem to work now, not the arial picture.  Do you have any other options?
