My company is wanting to upgrade my work system and they've given me a green light for just about anything within reason. I know there are those of you out there running Mapinfo through virtual machines on MacOS, and I wanted to hear from you what your experience has been like. Does Mapinfo run stable enough to make it a viable course of action?

I've used mapinfo daily in Parallels on Mac for years without problems.  My only concern for you would be the latest Apple hardware using non-Intel processors.

Yes as I've been doing my reading it seems with the M1 processors, neither VMware or Parallels is currently able to run Windows, so I'd have to buy a previous gen Intel-based one. Have you had any issues with any Mapbasic programs or additional plugins struggling with filepaths in your Parallels environment?

No problems with MapBasic programs.  Limited experience with plugins but I don't recall any issues.  File paths haven't been an issue -- I only access files in the Windows environment or NAS -- haven't tried accessing files on the MacOS side.  Yesterday Parallels 17 was announced.  It may solve the M1 problem, but Parallels hasn't published enough info yet.
