Custom North Arrow and Scale Bar

Hi,

I am trying to create a layout template in MapInfo that must match a
corporate presentation standard that is already established in other
applications.

Whilst I can match frame sizes & locations, logos and text, I am
unable to match the north arrow symbol (very specific) and the format
of scalebar.

CAn anyone point me in the direction of a tool or process whereby I
can create custom versions of these layout features.

Hi Stephen!

If you don't need an intelligent North arrow, but simply a north pointing image, you can create that as any image frame in your layout.
However, if you want to enhance the North Arrow mb utility, you must hack into the code or tab file that contains the North Arrow objects, and draw your own brand of north arrow.
At a glance, it seems to be doable but I may be mistaken.
Also, the method implies a vector based object. I do not think that raster objects will work.

Well, if you didn't mind a rotated map with a straight up-and-down pointing North arrow, you could register the raster as a table....

Thanks for the advice. I have created a vector graphic of the north
arrow as a compromise. Unfortunately it is made of multiple parts and
means that users have to be careful in moving it. Would ideally like
to group this into one object.

I am still stuck on a pre-styled dynamic scalebar. Any
recommendations?
