Hi I am looking for a way to convert  a mapped  table that holds values for  Eastings and Northing coordintes (mapped as per British National Grid)  and  outputting these on mass as Lat/ Long, both  to separate columns.

example data is
EAST (float) 544,532  North (float) 259,350

Are there any tools already out there , or is there some that I could do within my exisiting Mapinfo V12.0

Thanks Matt

Based on the presumption that the coordinates in the columns are the same as those used to create the mapped points, then use the Coordinate Converter tool (under Tools, Tools Manager) to add lat/long columns to the table and select 'use non-native projection' and set to lat/long.

Hi Grant,

It is also worth bearing in mind that if you go to Options>Preferences and change the Session Projection to something other than GB NG, e.g. Lat Long WGS84, then MapInfo will then report co-ordinates in that projection, so for example an Update Column and using the Centroid(X) and Centroid(Y) functions will come out in Decimal Degrees rather than NG Metres.

The simplest tool thats been around since V8 is Coordinate Extractor. You'd need to load it under the MI tools manager.
