Hi All

I have a query about one of our users running multiple sessions of MapInfo, whilst I know it is possible has anyone had an issue with lack of memory i.e. “Not enough memory to run this program etc.” I’m not that technical but I would expect each separate session is accessing the same back end resources so it would affect performamnce and memory.

We are using v2019.3

Any comments?

Kind Regards

Mae’r Cyngor yn croesawu gohebiaeth yn Gymraeg, Saesneg neu’n ddwyieithog. Byddwn yn cyfathrebu â chi yn ôl eich dewis, dim ond i chi roi gwybod i ni pa un sydd well gennych. Ni fydd gohebu yn Gymraeg yn arwain at oedi.

Mae'n bosibl bod gwybodaeth gyfrinachol yn y neges hon. Os na chyfeirir y neges atoch chi'n benodol (neu os nad ydych chi'n gyfrifol am drosglwyddo'r neges i'r person a enwir), yna ni chewch gopio na throsglwyddo'r neges. Mewn achos o'r fath, dylech ddinistrio'r neges a hysbysu'r anfonwr drwy e-bost ar unwaith. Rhowch wybod i'r anfonydd ar unwaith os nad ydych chi neu eich cyflogydd yn caniatau e-bost y Rhyngrwyd am negeseuon fel hon. Rhaid deall nad yw'r safbwyntiau, y casgliadau a'r wybodaeth arall yn y neges hon nad ydynt yn cyfeirio at fusnes swyddogol Cyngor Dinas a Sir Caerdydd yn cynrychioli barn y Cyngor Sir nad yn cael sel ei fendith. Caiff unrhyw negeseuon a anfonir at, neu o'r cyfeiriad e-bost hwn eu prosesu gan system E-bost Gorfforaethol Cyngor Sir Caerdydd a gallant gael eu harchwilio gan rywun heblaw'r person a enwir.

Jeremy,

I run multiple MapInfo version 2021.1 Release Build 33 all day long.  Some instances stay open, some close, and I've never received the message you stated.

Are you either:
1. Opening extremely large TAB or SHP files?
2. Are you doing a lot of labor intensive object manipulation?
     - This is when I watch MapInfo's memory usage go up within Task Manager a lot; however, the most I've ever got to is around 2.2GB of memory and that was from a process that manipulated objects for about 7-8 hours straight.

I wish I could help more.
