Mapinfo Professional has stopped working V12.5

Having problems getting v12.5 to start.  All it does on start up is error with the message "Mapinfo Professional has stopped working".  Everything has been reinstalled and check several times but still not luck getting it to work.

Can you try to run MI Pro by rightclicking on the shortcut and then pick "Run as Administrator..."
Also check your Windows Evnet log for any errors related to the crash"

I problem could be you have inserted an external drive, saved or opened from it and removed it..Now may be you need to insert once again and try opening your MI..it worked for me..installed 12 - 15 times before finding this solution...

It describes the same problem with MI 10.0 that you have with 12.5.  And a solution, that might work for you.
