How Do I do that?

That would depend on what application has created your *.dat file.

MapInfo’s native DAT file format is similar to DBF – I’m sure there’s a better description of this somewhere – but at a pinch the data from a DAT file can be rescued by (e.g.) opening it in Excel as if it was a DBF.

There are also several other softwares which use the DAT file extension.

Thanks very much, I figure it out by saving as excel file.

I also want to know if there anyone experience with such coordinate data(attached)?

It's a drill hole collar file and the location should be in Zone 11, South Western Alberta area.

But I couldn't locate them with the recent datum we're using which is NAD 83 and UTM zone 11 coordinate system.

Love to hear any suggestion.

The file is attached.

Thanks so much!

Mimi
