Have a look in the Tool Manager for “Named Views” – this allows you to save a view and come back to it later

It would save me a lot of problems to know how can I lock (fixed) the map extent in layout window or any hints how to solve this as "workaround". Very often I need to do some additional changes in map like repositioning label etc. and for that I need to pan/zoom the map but in the layout I need still the same extent. Is there some simple way?
