Metadata TableID?

Hi,

Does anyone know what the TableID in the .TAB metadata is for?

I can't find any documentation relating to it. I'm looking to transfer metadata between tables and wondering if it's OK to omit or duplicate this value.

That’s a unique table ID that we started generating a couple of versions back.

If you make a copy of a table, the ID of the parent table will also be included.

 

You shouldn’t duplicate this ID across multiple tab files

My Metadata routine is now ignoring the TableID. Is this reserved for some future use?
